Dr Botanicals is a skincare brand I only recently found out about and I’m so glad I did. The London based brand believes in a vegan skincare routine for both environmental and ethical reasons. They use only natural ingredients and never test on animals. What’s not to love!

I love to try out facial oils as they always feel so hydrating and nourishing on my skin, so after hearing only good things about the Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil I decided to pick it up a few months ago. The oil is packed full of active ingredients that all work together to rejuvenate and moisturise skin while also brightening and evening out skin tone. Not to mention it has a beautiful light pink colour and is scented like roses and candy floss.

The Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil’s main ingredients are:

vitamin C:

Stimulates collagen production, anti-inflammatory (great for acne or rosacea) and helps to treat the sun exposure damage you can't see.

vitamin A:

Another antioxidant that increases blood flow to the skin, reducing the signs of ageing and helps prevent the appearance of breakouts, evening out skin tone.

almond oil:

Is great for dry skin as it locks moisture into the skin, protecting it against exposure to pollution and helping to prevent acne. Brightens and nourishes.

All of these ingredients have made my skin feel much more plump and healthier after using the oil.

The packaging is very minimal which fits with the branding; a simple glass bottle with a pipette applicator for controlled application. However, the consistency is very watery so quick movement is needed. Day and night, I use about 3-4 drops of the oil and gently press it into my cheeks, forehead and chin. The oil sinks into the skin immediately without any unwanted residue. After a few seconds you can’t even tell you’ve applied it. I then apply my Sukin moisturiser on top for added hydration.

While the runny consistency can make application quite difficult, I think the oil and its amazing ingredients are doing great things for my skin. I’d definitely recommend it to all skin types.
