House of Hackney is a luxe homeware and fashion brand founded by print lovers Javvy M Royle and Frieda Gormley. Primarily a homeware label, the quirky duo wanted to escape from the dull world of low key beige interiors and try something a tad more eccentric by tapping into their artistic roots. The pair created playful and rich prints full of candy-coloured florals and palm leaves. It only makes sense that they’re described as “Colefax and Fowler on acid”! But what also makes House of Hackney a little different to the rest is their made in England philosophy, their way of backing the UK textiles industry and ensuring quality.
House of Hackney went back to their fashion background when Opening Ceremony commissioned an exclusive clothing collection from the brand. Now you can find all of their prints, from “Dalston Rose” to “Palmeral” on bikinis, dresses and silk shirts. My favourite so far is undeniably the pre-fall Poppium collection, a whirlwind of wild poppies, premium silk and feminine cuts.
