Five May Favourites

Hasn’t May flown by?! I’ve officially finished my second year at University and it’s almost June already which is a super exciting as I’m off on holiday soon! I thought I’d share five of my favourites with you which are all things I’ve fallen in love with during the past month…

My first favourite is this white flower necklace from New Look. I always find that I forget to accessorise, but I’m starting to feel like I want to incorporate pretty jewellery into my outfits this Summer. After a little browse in New Look I came across this lovely necklace and bought it on a whim. There’s also a blue version, but I decided to go with the versatile white so I can wear it with any outfit!

I’ve been on the hunt for the ideal moisturiser for so long, starting out with Simple’s light moisturiser before branching out to Benefit. However, I haven’t been lucky enough to find the right one for my skin yet. After hearing great things about what Lush had to offer I caved and bought their Vanishing Cream, which is Lush’s best-selling moisturiser. I’m super happy with it so far, it’s light and quickly disappears which is ideal for me as I like to use it before applying make-up. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone with combination to oily skin!

If you’re looking for the ultimate Summer body mist then here it is! Anything coconut scented from The Body Shop is to die for but this fresh body mist smells a-mazing. The tropical coconut scent is reminiscent of being on holiday and it’s so refreshing. The only downside is that you do need to keep topping up throughout the day as the scent fades, but I’ll definitely be carrying this in my bag over the next few months.

As someone with an independent magazine addiction (it’s quite worrying) I find myself browsing websites like Leeds Village Book Store habitually – which deserve a mention as your magazines come beautifully wrapped in tissue paper and twine. During one browsing session, I came across Huck Magazine which is new to me. Huck is a youth culture magazine which has roots in surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding – admittedly these are all things I don’t usually find myself interested in but this edition drew me in. It’s their fiftieth-anniversary special bringing us 50 inspiring stories “about the lessons life throws at us when we’re busy doing what we love.” In addition to the stunning photography, each article is inspiring and certainly worth checking out.

I bought this cactus a month ago from a local garden centre after I fell in love with the little pink flowers it sprouted! It’s a Mammillaria Zeilmanniana but is commonly called a Rose Pincushion Cactus. Since the sun is slowly making a regular appearance new beautiful blooms are flowering, which is why I couldn’t resist putting it in my favourites.

What have you been loving this month?
